INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH AND FITNESS

The Institute for Fitness and Health Foundation (IFHF), established in 2005, is a 501c3 non-profit organization. It supports the healthy lifestyle mission by reaching families and communities through low-cost and free programming. By helping to shape positive habits in participants, it improves their opportunity for a lifetime of good health.

The founder and executive director of the Institute for Fitness and Health Foundation (IFHF), Joe Piscatella delivers all sessions of the 6 Weeks to a Healthier You program. He is one of the country’s leading experts on how to live a healthy lifestyle. He is the author of 13 best-selling books, the host of three PBS television programs and has appeared on The Today Show, CNN, Fox News and Good Morning America. He is a guest expert on WebMD and has served on the Legislative Task Force on Youth Health charged with improving nutrition and fitness in schools in Washington State, and as the only non-medical member of the NIH Expert Panel on Cardiac Rehabilitation. Over 2 million people have attended his programs. TIME magazine calls him “a force for positive change.”

Joe knows the science of healthy living, but he also understands the practical side. He underwent coronary bypass surgery at age 32. Now, 38 years later, audiences appreciate his realistic perspective on making lasting healthy changes.
